Mudita Radiant
Minimalism with a Mindful Heart

Joyfully, this is not my first rodeo when it comes to the minimalist extraordinaires of Mudita. I had the fortune of reviewing their extra-slim, titanium automatic Element watch last year, and I still think about how returning a watch to its purest essence can be so successful. In many ways, Mudita acts as the Marie Kondo of the microbrand world, showing us time and again that less can indeed be more.
So when I spent time with two versions of the Mudita Radiant; the petite 32 mm Baltic Blue and the slightly larger 37 mm Sand Beige; I knew I was in for something special.

A Tiny Triumph: The 32 mm Baltic Blue
The 32 mm Radiant in Baltic Blue deserves applause not only for its intriguing dark blue-grey hue, but for what Mudita achieved beneath the surface. Offering a Swiss- made automatic movement (the Sellita SW200 Elaboré) in a true 32 mm case and only 10mm thick is exceptionally rare and almost unheard of among microbrands: In fact; it led me to try and find anything comparable on the market today and only with the help of my friend Jordi aka @watch_zaddy who kindly pointed out that Brew made the Brew Metric Light at 30 mm, which uses a Miyota movement, not a Swiss unit (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and a handful of micros making in a 34-35mm size range. It’s a rare bird indeed. But with large brands like Omega and Rolex offering no fuss automatics from 28mm, there’s clearly a market for it. Whilst these brands cost thousands, Mudita offers a fantastic little package for currently just shy of $600 dollars thanks to a special pre order price with 15% off.

In fact, most smaller watches from micros are quartz or overlooked entirely, yet Mudita managed to pack the SW200 Elaboré into this compact, thoughtful case. The result is a watch that wears like a dream: light, comfortable, perfectly proportioned for smaller wrists, but without a hint of compromise in reliability or craftsmanship. And don’t be fooled by the smaller size. This watch is super legible and definitely not just for girls. Its inspiration being a classic field watch and with a lug to lug of 39mm, there is only a slight hint of a feminine touch with the applied silver numerals in their signature font and the framing of the round indices is that attention to detail, which takes it one step away from pure utilitarian and gives it an elegant touch.

Living with the Baltic Blue has been surprisingly satisfying. Whether I’m making breakfast, tidying up, or helping the kids with homework, the usual daily tasks somehow feel more intentional when I glance at this watch. The dial is wonderfully legible, glowing like a tiny torch at bedtime when I want to check the time without waking anyone. And the colour palette of deep Baltic Blue and soft Sand Beige pairs effortlessly with everything from jeans and a tee to more polished outfits.

The 37 mm Sand Beige: The Sweet Spot
The 37 mm Sand Beige version offers a completely different, but equally thoughtful experience. This size feels like a genuine sweet spot in modern watchmaking and a size sprinkled throughout my personal collection as it’s the perfect sharing size with my partner and with a lug to lug of 45mm it sits comfortably on my 13.5cm wrist. It has more presence than the 32 mm, offering a clear, confident dial and a bit more wrist real estate, but without ever tipping into oversized territory. For many wrists, men’s, women’s, and anyone in between 37 mm lands in that beautiful middle ground of proportion, comfort, and visual balance.

The benefit of being sent two sizes and colours is the ability to handle both side by side and appreciate the subtle differences, which make an impact. Whereas the Baltic blue shines with complimenting tones of greys and blues, the Beige sand makes use of the high contrast of Black against that sandy gold colour, which is so superb. Much like a painting comes to life when put in a lovely frame, the hands and indices pop, which is particularly spectacular in low-light as the BGW9 lume shines like a beacon. The crisp bespoke Mudita numerals really standout in black and somehow give the impression they are floating on the dial. It’s a design in high definition compared to the more subdued yet elegant Baltic blue and Charcoal black variants.
The warm, understated Sand Beige tone gives the watch an effortlessly versatile personality and is my favourite of the colour ways. It’s the kind of colour that blends seamlessly into everyday life: soft enough to be subtle, warm enough to have character, and stylish enough to elevate even the simplest outfit. I adore how the dial springs to life with a mellow metallic golden sparkle in sunlight. Never too much, but just enough.
Just like its smaller sibling, the 37 mm houses the same Swiss automatic movement, the same clean dial design, sapphire crystal protection with AR coating, and Mudita’s signature details: subtle crown engraving, crisp Super-LumiNova, and an easy quick-release strap system.

Straps That Speak the Same Language as the Watch
Just as the Radiant itself reflects a mindful, intentional design philosophy, its straps follow suit marrying practicality with purpose. Mudita offers six quick-release vegan straps that echo the very spirit of the watch: clean, calm, and quietly confident.
Each strap is crafted from plant-based materials, deliberately steering clear of traditional leather in favour of a more ethical and sustainable alternative. This choice isn’t just about trends; it’s a statement, one that aligns with Mudita’s broader ethos of conscious simplicity.

The palette is subtle yet expressive, with tones like Natural White, Sand Beige, Moss Green, Baltic Blue, Charcoal Black, and Pebble Grey that mirror the Radiant’s nature- inspired dials, allowing you to build a coherent visual story on your wrist. Whether you choose harmony or contrast, the options never feel excessive, just considered.
Functionality is not sacrificed for aesthetics. Thanks to the quick-release spring-bar system, swapping straps is intuitive and tool-free, giving you the freedom to adapt the watch to your mood, your outfit, or the setting. It’s an invitation to experiment, without overcommitting.

More Sizes, More Colours, Same Philosophy
While I spent my time with the 32 mm and 37 mm models, Mudita didn’t stop there. The Radiant collection is also available in a 40 mm size for those who prefer a larger field-watch presence. Mudita delivers, giving the watch fam much needed options from the get-go. I mean it took Tissot years to release the beloved PRX in 38mm!! It’s all about choices baby! Across all sizes, Mudita offers a palette of nature-inspired colours from crisp whites to earthy greens, warm neutrals, deep blues, and classic blacks.
This range of sizes and tones is not just about choice; it reflects Mudita ’s inclusivity and their belief that thoughtful design should be accessible to everyone, regardless of wrist size or personal style.

A Kickstarter Success Story
The Radiant collection didn’t simply launch. It took off. Mudita brought the Radiant to life on Kickstarter, and the response was immediate. The project quickly became a standout success, resonating with backers who clearly appreciated the brand’s philosophy of mindful minimalism, mechanical integrity, and honest design and let’s not forget choices! This watch makes a perfect his and hers watch with complimenting sizes and colours to suit your wrist size and style.

Styling the Mudita Radiant
The Mudita Radiant is effortless to wear thanks to its clean design and soft, natural tones. If you prefer tone-on-tone neutrals, the Sand Beige version blends beautifully with creams, taupes, and earthy outfits, creating a calm and cohesive look.

For those who enjoy colour, the Baltic Blue model adds a touch of quiet confidence. It pairs easily with brighter palettes of deep greens, pinks, burgundies, mustard, or summer tones, without ever overpowering the outfit.
Minimalist and logo-free, the Radiant adapts to your style rather than competing with it, making it a watch you’ll want to reach for time and again. It’s just so easy to wear!

Final Thoughts—Quiet Personality, Loud Impact
What I love most about the Radiant collection is its quiet personality. There’s no flashy branding, no unnecessary complications, just thoughtful functionality and design. In a micro brand world often dominated by bold statements, the 32 mm Baltic Blue stands out as a rare gem: a small, Swiss- made mechanical watch that doesn’t sacrifice character or craftsmanship. And the 37 mm Sand Beige? It may well be the sweet-spot everyday watch many of us have been waiting for.
And if you’re someone who appreciates minimalist, no-nonsense, super-clean design and you love the idea of pairing that aesthetic with a brilliant and robust Swiss Sellita automatic movement, then the Radiant may be the perfect watch for you. It’s that rare blend of simplicity and substance: a watch that looks calm and intentional on the outside while beating with serious mechanical credibility within.
Whether in Baltic Blue, Sand Beige, little or large, the Mudita Radiant proves that good design doesn’t need to shout and that sometimes the most simple pieces are the most rewarding.
